Accessibility Statement

Last updated

G&E Auto Glass wants everyone to be able to get a windshield quote from this site, including people who use screen readers, keyboard navigation, magnification, or voice control. This page describes what we have done and how to reach us if something on the site gets in your way.

Our commitment

We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, Level AA (opens in a new tab). Those guidelines are the standard referenced by the Americans with Disabilities Act and by California’s Unruh Civil Rights Act for websites.

Accessibility is not a one-time project. We review the site when we change it and fix what we find.

What we have done

  • Text and interface colors on this site are checked against the WCAG AA contrast ratios (4.5:1 for body text, 3:1 for icons and controls).
  • Every page can be operated by keyboard alone, with a visible focus indicator on each link, button, and form field.
  • A “Skip to main content” link is the first thing a keyboard user reaches on every page, so the navigation can be bypassed.
  • All meaningful images carry descriptive alternative text; decorative graphics are hidden from screen readers so they do not add noise.
  • Form fields have visible, correctly associated labels, use standard autofill hints, and announce errors and confirmations to screen readers.
  • The photo galleries and the image lightbox are fully keyboard operable, including Escape to close and arrow keys to move between photos.
  • Automatically scrolling photo strips can be paused with a button, and all motion on the site stops entirely if your device is set to reduce motion.
  • Page structure uses real headings, landmarks, and lists so screen-reader users can navigate by structure rather than reading everything in order.

Known limitations

A few things we are aware of and are working on:

  • Some of our photographs came from customer and social-media sources and have general rather than highly specific alternative text.
  • Third-party content we embed — such as advertising and analytics scripts — is outside our direct control, though it does not carry visible content on this site.

If you run into something not listed here, we would genuinely like to know. Reports from people using the site are more useful to us than any automated scan.

We will read you anything on the site, take your details over the phone, and arrange service the same way.

Formal complaints

If you are not satisfied with our response, you may contact the U.S. Department of Justice Civil Rights Division at ada.gov (opens in a new tab) or the California Civil Rights Department. We would much rather hear from you first and fix it.
